The Belgian has been in great form for loan club Atletico Madrid and the majority of votes in our poll suggest the Blues should make the 21-year-old their first-choice goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois should be Chelsea's No.1 goalkeeper next season, not Petr Cech, according to an overwhelming majority of Goal readers.
As reported by Goal, the former Genk shot-stopper is on the verge of agreeing a fourth loan spell with Atletico Madrid with the Blues unwilling to assure him of first-team football - though you have voted in your swathes in favour of the 21-year-old staying at Stamford Bridge.
The two goalkeepers enjoyed, or endured, rather contrasting evenings in the Champions League this week, with the young Belgian starring for loan club Atletico Madrid in a hard-fought draw at Camp Nou, while Cech wobbled in Paris.
The Czech international looked shaky when claiming crosses and failed to command his area as David Luiz netted an own goal, before being beaten easily at his near post for Javier Pastore's potentially decisive third goal.
That gaffe, coupled with Courtois' stunning form for Atleti, has seen 68% of readers who voted in our poll claim Cech should be dropped from the Chelsea starting XI in favour of the his much younger understudy ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.
Cech, though, will not be given up his squad without a fight and is ready to battle Courtois for the No.1 jersey: "If he comes back and he’s better than me, credit to him, well done to him, but who knows? I’m not afraid."
