The Spurs outcasts looked suspiciously satisfied after Liverpool humiliated Andre Villas-Boas' men at White Hart Lane to leave the manager under severe pressureEmmanuel Adebayor chose an interesting way to mark Tottenham's 5-0 humbling at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday - by posing for a smiling picture with fellow Spurs outcast Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
Adebayor has found himself exiled from Andre Villas-Boas' starting XI this season despite Spurs' ongoing struggles in front of goal, making just one substitute appearance against Manchester City last month.
Assou-Ekotto, meanwhile, was sent out on loan to QPR in the summer after being informed that he was surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane.
And neither man appeared too distraught by a result which leaves Tottenham languishing in seventh in the Premier League and Villas-Boas' future the subject of intense speculation.
Along with the picture he posted on Twitter, Assou-Ekotto wrote: "What a game tonight....happy to see my man @E_Adebayor (LOL)"
One suspects that 'laughing out loud' was not Villas-Boas' reaction when he was informed of the tweet.
