The Manchester United striker has been replaced by Danny Welbeck, and will lead the line against Manchester City with Wayne Rooney.

"It was a groin strain during the week. We thought he'd be okay today but not quite. Up to this morning we gave it every chance he had a real opportunity of making it." said United boss David Moyes.
