Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will miss Argentina's friendly fixture against Italy on August 14 as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

The 25-year-old travelled with City's squad for their pre-season tour of Asia but did not appear in either of the club's two matches.

Aguero is now in a race to be fit for City's opening Premier League game against Newcastle United on August 19.

Former City striker Carlos Tevez, who secured a move to Juventus earlier this summer, has also been left out of
Alejandro Sabella's squad.
