'I didn't feel part of the team' - Shechter hits out at Swansea loan

The striker, who scored just once during his time at the Liberty Stadium, says the season-long stint affected his confidence and is glad to seal a return to Hapoel Tel Aviv
Former Swansea loanee Itay Shechter says his "tough" spell at the Liberty Stadium affected his confidence after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by.

The 26-year-old netted just once, late in the campaign, during his time with the Swans after arriving on a season-long stint from Kaiserslautern.

The striker has now clinched a return to Hapoel Tel Aviv and feels a move "home" will serve him well as he looks to rediscover his scoring touch.

"I experienced a tough season," Shecter told the Jerusalem Post. "I didn't feel part of the team. I had to take a step back to regain confidence and enjoy playing once more.

"I'm really happy to be back home. Perhaps I could have made more money at other clubs, but I'd rather play for Hapoel.

"The expectations from me would have been high regardless of my salary and I will do my all to repay the club."
