Tottenham boss Villas-Boas tips Wigan to upset Arsenal

The Spurs manager is hopeful that the FA Cup winners can open the door for his side to sneak ahead of the Gunners in the race for the final Champions League qualification spot
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is putting faith in Wigan to beat Arsenal and open the door for his side's Champions League qualification.

50/1 Wigan are 50/1 with BetVictor to beat Arsenal 3-2
Emmanuel Adebayor's late strike to beat Stoke City 2-1 on Sunday kept Spurs in the hunt for a top-four place but the Gunners are only two points behind with a game in hand and would claim fourth position if they win their final two matches, against the Latics and Newcastle.

The FA Cup winners, however, need to beat Arsene Wenger's men to maintain the possibility of avoiding relegation from the Premier League and Villas-Boas is hopeful that they will be motivated enough to help him out.

"Obviously there is great emotion and motivation going through the Wigan players' heads at the moment and we saw the message from [chairman] Dave Whelan saying they are absolutely focused," the Spurs boss told Sky Sports.

"I expect them to give them a hard game because the objectives are there for both teams. Arsenal are a very experienced side but Wigan are very, very motivated to save themselves.

"For us, the objective was to take this into the last game of the season and that is what we will do."
