Norwich to investigate Bennett Twitter remarks

The Carrow Road club are to look into posts made by the 23-year-old on the social networking site, but have yet to make any comment on proceedings at this time
Norwich have confirmed that they are to launch an internal probe into alleged remarks made on the Twitter account of defender Ryan Bennett.

A statement on the club's website read: "The club can confirm defender Ryan Bennett has been the subject of internal disciplinary procedures following remarks made on the social media service Twitter.
"The club is waiting for further communication from the Football Association regarding any possible formal charge from them in relation to the matter.
"No further comment will be made by the club or Ryan Bennett at this time."

The former England under-21 international's Twitter account has since been deactivated, but the Football Association has yet to make any comment on the situation.

Bennett, who joined the Canaries from Peterborough in January 2012, netted the opener in the Saturday's 2-1 win over Reading.
