Tottenham striker Jonathan Obika has joined Championship side Charlton Athletic on loan for the rest of the season, the north London club have confirmed.
The 22-year-old frontman has made four senior appearances for Spurs since making his debut against NEC Nijmegen in 2008, but has spent the majority of his career out on loan.
Obika has played more than 100 games during spells with Yeovil Town, Swindon Town, Peterborough United, Crystal Palace and Millwall and will now turn out for Chris Powell’s side.
However, Obika’s long-term future appears to be at White Hart Lane after the striker signed a new contract with Spurs until 2014 before heading out on loan.
The forward is a product of Tottenham’s youth system and was the top scorer for the academy side in the 2007-08 season.
His exploits to date have earned him caps with England Under-19s and also a call-up to the Under-20 World Championships in 2009, where he played for England twice.
