thumbnail Hello,

The Frenchman has urged his team-mates to stick together in order to avoid the drop after their 2-1 win over West Ham lifted them out of the Premier League's bottom three

Aston Villa winger Charles N’Zogbia is calling on his experiences of relegation battles with Wigan to aid his side's current plight.

The 26-year-old won a penalty and scored a free-kick in a long overdue win for his side on Sunday, as Villa hauled themselves out of the Premier League drop zone.

It was one of N’Zogbia’s best performances in a claret and blue shirt since his £9.5 million move from Wigan 18 months ago, and he is keen to bring the experience from his time at the DW Stadium to Villa’s aid.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, N’Zogbia said: “I’ve been through that for many years and I just know we have to keep working together, keep believing in our football and our players. It will be the best way.

“The secret is you have to stick together and never let people down. West Ham was important for the team and the club to win.”

Many have tipped Villa for relegation this term, with the win over West Ham just the third Lambert’s charges have managed at home this season.

But N’Zogbia has insisted that as long as the squad believe in their own talent, then they can survive the drop.

The Frenchman continued: “Some fans can be against us but it is normal when they don’t see their team winning. Now we just have to believe in ourselves and the fans will believe in us and that is the best we can do.

“We are going to have two weeks to prepare for the next game so it is going to be good. We are going to work together and hopefully we will be fit and confident to play in two weeks.”
