The veteran midfielder left his engine running on his driveway in order to defrost the vehicle and went inside his house but returned to find that it had been takenManchester United star Paul Scholes had his car stolen on Monday morning after leaving it momentarily alone with the engine running in order to melt ice.
The veteran midfielder, who lives in Oldham, was defrosting his vehicle, with overnight temperatures in the area having been around seven degrees Celsius.
Greater Manchester Police told Goal.com in a statement: "Police are investigating after a car was stolen while the owner was defrosting the vehicle.
"The grey Chevrolet Estate was stolen from the drive of a house in the Greenfield area of Oldham between 07.45GMT and 08.00GMT on Monday, January 28, 2013.
"Inquiries to locate the car are ongoing."
