Roberto Mancini makes three changes from the side that were held to a goalless draw by Rafa Benitez' Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, dropping Kolarov, Milner and Dzeko
Edin Dzeko was preferred at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, but he failed to impress from the start and has been dropped in favour of Mancini's countryman, while Carlos Tevez is also named amongst the substitutes.
The City boss has also made a two further changes from the one that was held to a goalless draw by Chelsea, replacing Aleksandar Kolarov with the attack-minded Brazilian full-back Maicon and also preferring Javi Garcia over James Milner.
The Italian has also rooted for 4-4-2 once again, after he was forced to switch from a 3-5-2 formation after 20 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Roberto Martinez, meanwhile, has made two enforced changes from the one that edged Reading 3-2 in their last outing, courtesy of Jordi Gomez' hat-trick.
Adrian Lopez makes his first Premier League start at the expense of Ivan Ramis in a back three, while Franco Di Santo deputises for Shaun Maloney in a three-pronged attack.
