The Black Cats have played seven of their 11 Premier League games away from the Stadium of Light and the former Middlesbrough man wants to kickstart a successful runLee Cattermole wants Sunderland to launch a run of fine form, with four of their next five games to be played at home.
The Black Cats host West Brom on Saturday afternoon and currently sit 16th in the table, while the Baggies are fourth after beating Chelsea last weekend.
Martin O'Neill's side have only lost once at home this term, and Cattermole wants his team to climb up the table in the coming weeks.
“We’ve just gone about our business, kept working," he told the club's official website.
"We don’t need to come out and say that we’ve had so many away games – we’ve got four out of the next five at home so it’s turning in our favour a little bit now.
“We’ve just got to go and perform now. There’s a great crowd here and we’ll just keep working each game at a time; we know there are no easy games. West Brom are going to come here full of confidence having just beaten Chelsea – it’s not going to be an easy game.
“We believe that on our day, if we’re on our game, we can beat anyone.
“They’re a physical team, powerful up front. They’ve definitely got goals in their side so we need to be on our guard.
“We just have to be patient, there’s no rush, we don’t have to win it in the first five minutes. We’ll just take our time in the game and if we can get a win here it’ll set us off again.”

Sunderland beat Fulham last weekend at Craven Cottage, and the Black Cats' skipper believes the win will have a far-reaching effect.
“Fulham are a good side and I think our performances have been getting better and better in the last couple of weeks,” Cattermole added.
“It’s a massive three points for us, not just for the players but for the whole city, the staff and everybody around the place. It gives everyone such a big lift.”
