The Dutch manager plans to spend the funds generated by the sale of Mousa Dembele and Clint Dempsey in order to build a squad that can compete with the likes of Arsenal and SpursFulham boss Martin Jol is planning a January spending spree as he seeks to strengthen his squad and build a team on par with London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.
The Dutch manager lost Clint Dempsey, Mousa Dembele and Danny Murphy, among others, in the summer and now hopes to reinvest the profits from their sales.
"It's a cliche but we always look for players who can strengthen our team,” Jol told the Fulham Chronicle.
"I want to build a top team and that needs a very good footballing side that can compete with the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and Everton."

But the former Ajax manager hopes to have more time to add reinforcements in January without the fear of losing his best players, as was the case over the summer.
"That would be fantastic because then you can strengthen your squad," Jol continued.
"If you don't know what will happen three days before the end of the transfer window then you've got a problem like we had.
"But nothing is what it seems because after that we've been doing better than before."
