QPR rubbish reports of Hughes sacking

Speculation emerged on Twitter on Monday night that the under-fire manager had been removed from his posts but the club confirm that he will take training as usual on Tuesday
QPR have denied reports that manager Mark Hughes has been sacked.

Speculation had emerged on Twitter that, following defeat to fellow strugglers Southampton at home on Saturday, the Rs board had lost patience with their boss.

But the club have declared otherwise, despite being yet to win in the Premier League this season after 12 games.

1/7 Mark Hughes is 1/7 with PaddyPower to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post
Reports suggested that Hughes had a meeting with the QPR board on Monday but it has now been confirmed that the Welshman will take charge of training as usual on Tuesday.

The Rs will face Manchester United on Saturday as they aim to close the four-point gap between themselves and the 19th-placed Saints.

Former manager Iain Dowie is among those who have backed Hughes to see the job through once his legion of summer signings have time to gel with each other.
