Chelsea to face Ulsan Hyundai or Monterrey in Club World Cup semi-final

The Korean club beat Al-Ahli in the Asian Champions League final on Saturday to claim a quarter-final berth against the triumphant Concacaf side in the Japan-based tournament

Chelsea will been drawn against either Ulsan Hyundai or Monterrey for the semi-final of the World Club Cup on December 13.

The London club have been seeded to the last four and will face either the winners of the Asian Champions League or the Concacaf Champions League in four weeks’ time, who battle out in the competition’s quarter-final.

Ulsan Hyundai strolled to a comfortable win in the final of the 2012 Asian Champions League on Saturday, beating Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli 3-0 in South Korea’s Big Crown Stadium.

Mexican club Monterrey won the Concacaf Champions League after a close battle with Clausura winners Santos Laguna.

The quarter-final will take place on December 9 in Toyota, Japan, with the final scheduled for December 16 in Yokahama.
