Saints boss Nigel Adkins admitted after his side’s 2-0 loss against West Brom on Monday that he was winning the race to become the first Premier League managerial casualty of the season.
With this in mind, Laudrup thinks that Saturday’s game will be a dangerous fixture for his team as the Southampton players look to save their manager’s job.

“They will be very motivated to do well for him and that’s what we are up against.
“Players will also want to save their manager because who knows what happens if a new manager comes in.
“They have to think about their own future. Everybody wants to play in the Premier League, no-one wants to go back to playing in the Championship.”
Laudrup also revealed he was looking ahead to this fixture before his side faced Chelsea at the Liberty stadium last weekend as he looks to steer his side well clear of the relegation zone.
He added: “I look at the games and in my head I have key games, Southampton is one of those games.
“If we can win we will be on 15 points, maybe 10 clear of the relegation zone, so that’s important. I have to repeat that to the players and hope it gets through to them.
“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the bottom three need to get points or the gap is going to get bigger.
“Southampton really need these points and will be looking at this game as one where they have to get something.
“They are going to put a lot of pressure on us. If we are not ready with the right attitude that we have shown in the last three games then we are going to have problems.”
