The 34-year-old forward joined the Black Cats in the summer after his contract at Tottenham expired but has failed to score in his first 10 appearances for the club

Sunderland striker Louis Saha has confessed to feeling the pressure of waiting for his first goal for the club.

The Frenchman joined the Mackems from Tottenham over the summer on a free transfer, but has yet to net despite having made 10 appearances.

And with Martin O'Neill's men currently 16th in the Premier League, the 34-year-old is committed to getting on the scoresheet, and helping his side post a first league win of the season.

"You always work hard for that first goal and the pressure is off when you get it," Saha told reporters.

"You want to make sure you get it when it is the right moment. You don’t want to score when you are 3-0 down and you do not need it.

"You always want to do more and I think the team can do it and as a player I think I can do more as well."
