The Toffees goalkeeper says he cannot wait to see what the Croatian can achieve in a full Premier League season, after netting 11 goals since his move from Rangers in January
The Toffees shot stopper hailed the impact of the Croatian since his arrival from Rangers in January and says he cannot wait to see what the striker has in store for next term.
“He’s been brilliant for us, he’s been great, it was a steal at the price we got him for his goal return," he told The Liverpool Echo.
"He’s been brilliant for us, he’s been great, it was a steal at the price we got him for his goal return" - Tim Howard
“He has been fantastic and he is a great Everton forward – he works his socks off, he runs the channels, likes to get in behind and he finishes his chances.
“I think he got 17 goals at Rangers and 11 for us so that’s not a bad goal return for the 12 months.
“We are looking forward to getting him from pre-season. He has bedded in with the team now, which is great.
"Going into next season, he will be one of the boys and he knows the system and he knows the fans. We need a top striker and we got one.”Howard also spoke about his former team-mate James McFadden, who is currently without a club after being released by the Merseyside outfit at the end of his short-term deal.
“He’s got bags of talent,” he added.
“He’s tricky because he can play on the right side and come in on his left foot. He can pick a pass out and he’s a good striker of the ball.
"Injuries are difficult but he is working his way back. He did well this year to get himself fit and we used him towards the end of the season. I like his attitude.”
