Athletic Bilbao - Malaga Betting Preview: Why both teams to score is the smart bet tonight

Our man in Spain, Phil Kitromilides, believes Monday's La Liga offering should bring plenty of goals at either end
Three wins from their last four league games have moved Malaga to within touching distance of safety and another victory on Monday at the new San Mames would almost certainly guarantee their survival.

Paddy Power make them big outsiders tonight, though, pricing Malaga at 13/2 (7.50) in large part down to Athletic Bilbao's formidable home record.

Only the top two have lost fewer home games than the Basques this season and Athletic can be backed at 4/9 (1.44) to record their 12th home win of the season.

Though Ernesto Valverde's side have been strong in their own stadium, they have often conceded goals in home matches, and with Malaga enjoying something of a goalscoring resurgence, the price of evens (2.00) for both teams to score is appealing.

This has provided us with many winners over the course of the season with both teams to score paying out in seven of Athletic's last 10 home league matches.

Malaga, meanwhile, have found the back of the net in six of their last seven matches, meaning that goals at both ends look extremely likely.

Indeed, the price of evens (2.00) could be considered highly generous and should certainly be snapped up by punters.
