Despite sitting at the top of the league, Pahang head coach Zainal Abidin Hassan has warned his players against complacency and wants them to continue their winning ways
Pahang’s head coach, Zainal Abidin Hassan has warned his players against complacency despite they are currently at the top of the Malaysia Super League.
After defeating Perak 2-0 last Saturday, Pahang has leapfrogged Terengganu to be at the summit of the league, with the turtles still has one game in hand and Zainal wants his players to keep their excellent performance and winning momentum.
Zainal added that the players need to stay focus as there are still a lot of matches to be played, with 2nd round of the MSL is just about to get started.
According to Utusan Malaysia, Zainal said “I want to remind the players that they cannot lose their focus and always work hard for future fixtures. They have to keep this wining momentum if they want to be champions at the end of the seaon and they have to remember their responsibilities.”
Pahang took the chance to be at the top after Terengganu was only able to get a point with their clash against another east-coast team, Kelantan.
Goals from the in-form striker Dickson Nwakaeme and winger R. Gopinathan gives Pahang another 3 points, which now they have collected 19 from 10 fixtures so far this season.
Despite Pahang is unbeaten ever since Zainal took over from Ronald Smith, Zainal believed that they are still a lot of things they need to improve if they want to keep on staying at top of the table.
“However, I am happy with the commitment shown by the player and hope they can keep giving the best of performances in the future,” he added.
