Our Spanish betting expert, Phil Kitromilides, believes that Gerardo Martino's side will bounce back in style on Wednesday evening after a shock league defeat to ValenciaHaving suffered their first league defeat at the Camp Nou for nearly two years against Valencia, Barcelona will be hoping to instantly bounce back by recording a first-leg win in their Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Sociedad.
Indeed, the Basques also endured a weekend to forget, losing 4-0 at Atletico Madrid, and head to the
Camp Nou knowing that they have lost each of their last away 16 matches against the Blaugrana. Unsurprisingly, then, Paddy Power offer a win for La Real at 16/1 (17.00) while Barca can be backed at just 1/7 (1.14). A first-leg stalemate is available at 7/1 (8.00).
The bookmakers certainly think that Barca will have little problem in scoring against the visitors, with the champions offered at just 4/9 (1.44) to net three times or more.
This price is naturally too small for us to consider despite the selection looking solid so, instead, backing Barca to win both halves at 10/11 (1.91) looks like a more attractive prospect.
After the weekend defeat, expect a reaction from Gerardo Martino's side, especially as La Real have been conceding goals on the road.
In recent weeks, they have let in five at Villarreal as well as four on Sunday at Atletico and Barcelona should have too much for them in both halves on Wednesday evening.
