Villarreal - Real Sociedad Betting Preview: Why neither side will keep a clean sheet

Despite playing out a 0-0 draw on Thursday in the Copa del Rey, La Liga expert Phil Kitromilides explains why he believes these two sides will both score this evening
This league encounter between these two sides is sandwiched in the middle of a two legged cup tie, the first leg of which saw Villarreal and Real Sociedad draw 0-0 at Anoeta on Thursday.

Arguably, given that a place in the Champions League is potentially at stake, tonight's clash is more important and with fourth placed Athletic Bilbao picking up three points at the weekend, both sides will be desperate for the win to keep pace.

Betway price the hosts as clear favorites at 9/10 (1.90) while La Real are offered at 14/5 (3.80) and the draw available at 5/2 (3.50).

Villarreal's home form has been curious this season, drawing with both Atletico and Real Madrid, thrashing Valencia 4-1 yet losing to both Getafe and Sevilla. One thing they have consistently done is scored, netting in eight out of nine league fixtures at El Madrigal.

The Basques meanwhile have been in similarly impressive scoring form managing to find the back of the net in each of their least five away matches scoring ten goals in the process.

Both teams to score seems like the logical bet therefore, and Betway are top priced at 3/4 (1.75) which looks big enough to consider.

This bet has paid out in seven of Villarreal's nine home matches and the same number of times in La Real's nine away games.

Though these two sides played out a goalless draw on Thursday, that was the first leg of a two legged cup tie of relatively little significance in the broader scheme of things. Both sides will be highly motivated for tonight meaning there should be goals at both ends.
