thumbnail Hello,

The PSG forward, who is in the running for the Ballon d'Or, says "it is a great honour" to to be on millions of envelopes across his home nation

Millions of Swedes will soon be licking the back of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's head on a regular basis after it was revealed the Paris Saint-Germain striker will be the new face of stamps in the country.

The charismatic forward, who scored a hat-trick for PSG this weekend at they won 3-1 against Nice, has been plastered over billboards, websites and magazines for years, but this is the first time that he will be seen on post across Scandinavia.

He has starred for the likes of Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter during his illustrious career, but Ibrahimovic insists he is still proud to be chosen to be adorned across countless stamps in his home nation.

"It is a great honour to be on postage stamp," he is quoted by Swedish outlet SVD as saying. "I'm very happy and proud to be selected.

"Myself, I get a lot of bills and it is seldom that they have nice stamps. Maybe it will change now!"

The new stamp will go on sale on March 27, 2014 and postal chief Britt-Inger Hahne hopes Ibrahimovic will help boost interest in writing letters in Sweden.

"We know from experience that many choose stamps by how they look," she said. "I am very proud and happy to announce that next year we will publish a booklet of stamps with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"And if these stamps can reach new audiences that today neither send nor receive letters than that's amazing."

Ibrahimovic is expected to feature for Sweden in the upcoming World Cup 2014 play-off qualifiers with Portugal.
