Manchester United scraped through a 2-1 win over Sunderland last weekend, thanks to an impressive brace from youngster Adnan Januzaj. The Belgian prodigy was given the opportunity to start the game and he did not disappoint with a scintilating display that impressed many throughout the globe.

From the offset, Adnan showed tremendous hunger to run with the ball past defenders. He was never afraid to go directly against the Sunderland full-backs, which made life for them difficult. Having said that, United could not find a breakthrough in the first half, having conceded an early goal.

But when young Adnan came on for the second half, he went gung-ho. The first goal was a classy finish from inside the box using his weaker foot. Better still, Adnan himself started the move from the middle of the park, spreading play to the flanks, before he rushed into the box to fire home and give United the lead. It added much needed life into the game and United went on full force from then on.

But the second goal was even more exquisite. Nani sprinted down the right flank before flicking in a cross into the box. Adnan was perfectly positioned to volley home and give United the lead. In an away game, being under pressure, and Adnan Januzaj still had the composure to shine and win the game for the Red Devils. It was brilliance at its best.

And when he was subbed off, it was done to a thunderous reception from the away crowd at the Stadium of Light. It was been a topsy turvy season for United thus far and the journey has been relatively dark for now. But as usual, at the end of every dark tunnel, there is always light. And Adnan Januzaj seems to be that light.
