"No, I was not afraid," he said of PSG's transfer activity.
"I had a discussion with Laurent Blanc, who asked me what state of mind I was in and what I preferred to do. Everything depends on the system. It is certain that if one moves to 4-4-2 with a striker like Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] and another such as Edi, since the club paid €64 million (£54.1m) for him, it will be more complicated for me.
"But I did not have much to fear because the coach has given me confidence and told me how he saw things."
Lavezzi signed for les Rouge-et-Bleu from Napoli in July 2012 for a reported €30-million (£25.3m) fee and has scored 12 in 52 games for the Ligue 1 outfit.
PSG travel to play third-placed Olympique de Marseille on Sunday evening and currently sit on 18 points from eight games, three behind leaders Monaco.
