Phil Kitromilides believes the Germans will be too strong on Wednesday night, but also thinks La Real will score at least once
Without a domestic win since the opening day of the season back in mid August, the Basques tonight face a side just a point off top spot in the Bundesliga who also happen to be the second top scorers in the division.
La Real have been soul-less in their recent displays and they could easily have lost instead of drawn at home to Sevilla at the weekend. Paddy Power price them at 4/1 (5.00) this evening while the Germans are offered at 7/10 (1.70) and of the two the latter is clearly more appealing.
Indeed, the more one considers this game the more it looks like a home banker with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund the only teams to have beaten Bayer at home in a year.
The Germans have won their last seven league matches at home, but have only kept a clean sheet in one of their last five.
While La Real have not been prolific recently they are capable of netting at least once, leading us to the conclusion that backing Bayer to win and both teams to score at 23/10 (3.30) could be an excellent option for a small bet.
This selection has paid out in four of Leverkusen's last five home Bundesliga matches while it is also worth remembering that the side from San Sebastián managed to score at the Camp Nou last week.
