The former Real Madrid defender is thrilled with his new side's efforts in the early stages of the Ligue 1 season and praises the quality of the squad assembled by Claudio Ranieri
The former Real Madrid defender joined last season's Ligue 2 champions over the summer along with a host of new faces, but Claudio Ranieri's new-look team have taken little time to find their feet.
Monaco currently sit atop of the Ligue 1 table with 10 points from four games and Carvalho has warned the rest of the division that there is still much more to come.
"It's a great start and it wasn't something that was easy to envisage, given all the movement in the close season," the 35-year-old told the official Ligue 1 website.
"There's a lot of quality here with experienced players and young promising players but that's not enough to make a team.
"We're still building our team and it's great to already be picking up wins and points. That's the best fuel for our confidence.
"What I'll retain from the opening weeks of the season is the great spirit in the squad and we're all moving forward together."
