The centre-back has set his sights on more silverware in the upcoming season and says he is disappointed with attacker Mario Gomez's exit

Jerome Boateng is confident Bayern Munich have what it takes to successfully defend their Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB Pokal titles in 2013-14.

The Bavarians became the first-ever German team to win the treble last term and Boateng feels they can replicate last year's success in the new season.

"Everything is possible and we are very motivated to repeat last year's performances," the defender was quoted as saying by Kicker.

"You only have to look at how many times we have made it to the Champions League final in recent years to see what we are capable of."

The centre-back then went on to discuss the departure of Mario Gomez to Fiorentina and admitted the striker's exit is a bit of a blow to him.

He added: "Mario is one of my best friends, not just at the club but in general. I'm definitely sad he's gone, but he’s made his decision and I wish him all the best."
