A win at the Riazor would guarantee Liga safety for the hosts, but three points looks set to be hard to come by in the final weekend of Spanish action this seasonAfter 37 matches, Deportivo La Coruna's future comes down to the final game of the season. The Galicians are one of four sides that can be relegated on Saturday evening yet Fernando Vasquez's team have an advantage that the three below them do not, as their fate remians in their own hands.
Win and they are safe. That is the good news for Depor. The bad news is that they are the only side battling to avoid relegation who have a match against a team with something to play for, with Real Sociedad needing a win to retain any chance of making the Champions League.
It is intruigingly set up, therefore, and it is hardly surprising that the Riazor has been a complete sell out for days. With such high stakes, Paddy Power cannot split the sides with both offered at 6/4 (2.50) for the win and the draw available at 5/2 (3.50).
Logically, the bet for this game is for both teams to score but the price of 4/9 (1.44) means that it is almost impossible to invest in this outright. Instead, backing la Real to net two goals or more at 10/11 (1.91) looks like an excellent selection for two reasons.
Firstly, the Basques have been sensational in front of goal, putting three past Real Madrid last week and creating enough chances to have scored six or seven.
Secondly, Deportivo's defence is the second worst in the division, with the side from La Coruna struggling desperately at back.
This bet has paid out in eight of Real's last 10 matches and should do so again on Saturday night. For some higher odds try backing both teams to score in the first half at 9/4 (3.25).
