Beckham, who ended his playing career on Sunday after a six-month stint with Paris Saint Germain, has been tipped to return to the US in the near future and invest in his own franchise after putting soccer on the map across the pond following five succesful seasons at LA Galaxy.
Reports suggested he would take up a prominent role in City's new American enterprise, but Soriano dismissed any suggestion that the 38-year-old former England captain would be involved and vetoed reports that they held discussions were held with him.
"We never talked to David Beckham and he was never considered part of the owners of the team," he said to French newspaper L'Equipe. "Not even as an executive. That is clear."
