Young Lions boss Stuart Pearce has confirmed that the left-back and Tom Ince will miss the games against Romania and Austria after sustaining injuries in domestic competitionLuke Shaw and Thomas Ince have been ruled of England Under-21's clashes with Romania and Austria.
The duo both picked up injuries competing on the domestic front at the weekend, and manager Stuart Pearce confirmed that they would not be risked for the friendlies, as the young Lions continue their preparation for Euro 2013 in the summer.
He told the Football Association's website: "Luke had to pull out of the squad, which was a shame. Tom picked up an injury at the weekend and he wasn't going to be ready for the first game, and only an outside chance to be available for Monday.
"He's also played nigh-on every game for Blackpool this season, so I spoke to Paul [Ince] yesterday and he said that Tom's desperate to be with us, so he'd support what we wanted to do.

Despite the absence of two key players, Pearce stressed that the double-header will be an ideal test of his side's mettle ahead of the tournament.
He added: "Romania will be a tough side and technically they are very good. They are changing over age groups, but both games this week will be good tests for us.
"It's about what we do, how well we play and having contact with these players for a good eight days."
