The host will look to shrug off the disappointment of losing manager Michael Appleton to Blackburn Rovers but Willie Duncan expects Martin Jol's men to enjoy a rare victory
The Seasiders, now without a win in their last six matches following Saturday’s defeat at the hands of Charlton Athletic, are available at 2/1 (3.0) with William Hill to provide a cup shock by defeating the Cottagers at the second time of asking.
Martin Jol’s men are hardly in sparkling form either, having won just two of their last 15 matches but are rated as William Hill’s 6/4 (2.50) favourites to progress to the fourth round of the competition by beating Blackpool while the same firm go 2/1 (3.0) that the sides cannot be separated inside 90 minutes.
Should the tie not be settled within the regulation 90 minutes, extra time and, potentially, penalty kicks will come into play and William Hill offer a generous looking 4/6 (1.67) for the Premier League side to qualify for the next round while the hosts are available at 11/10 (2.10) to set up a fourth round tie against either Manchester United or West Ham United by seeing off Martin Jol's men.
It is worth noting that the Seasiders have found the net in no fewer than 16 of their last 17 matches but have also managed just three clean sheets during that sequence of fixtures while the Cottagers have both scored and conceded in seven of their last eight matches.
With that in mind, it is unsurprising to see William Hill offering just 6/10 (1.60) on both sides hitting the net on Tuesday while the same firm offer a tempting 8/11 (1.73) quote for three or more goals to be scored at Bloomfield Road.
If there are goals, Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov is likely to be amongst them and the Bulgarian star represents super value at 5/4 (2.25) with William Hill to score at any time inside the 90 minutes on Tuesday.
Those looking for bigger prices will be tempted by the generous 8/1 (9.0) quote for the Premier League side to book their place in the FA Cup fourth round by virtue of a 2-1 victory.
