Selangor's head coach Irfan Bakti believes his side is stronger than last season and he is not afraid of uprising Johor Darul Takzim FC.
Irfan also believes with that emphatic win, his side is now ready to start their Super League campaign. Their first match will be against Negeri Sembilan at the Shah Alam Stadium on January 8th, the opening day of league fixtures.
Speaking to Sinar Harian, Irfan said "As of right now, the understanding between the players is getting better, but we still need to work on our midfield area. Whatever it is, I am optimistic that we can achieve something next season, as we look far stronger that last season."
Selangor is facing three tough teams in their early fixtures. After facing Negeri Sembilan, they will travel to Singapore to face Lions XII, and then will host Terengganu three days after that.
When asked about the rising of star-studded Johor Darul Takzim FC, he wasn't worried at all. "Our aim is to win at least a trophy next season. Even though with the arrival of new-look Johor FC, I am not worried at all."
He also has not chose a replacement for Safiq Rahim as Selangor's captain yet, as he is still in discussion with the management team and will announce it possibly some time next week.
