thumbnail Hello,

Neither side have found their form consistently this season but Willie Duncan is backing goals at both ends when Peter Houston's Terrors host Kenny Shiels' Killie on Friday night

After a difficult start to the Scottish Premier League season, Dundee United have finally started to find their feet. Manager Peter Houston will hope that his side can collect another three points when they play host to Kenny Shiels’ Kilmarnock at Tannadice on Friday night.

United suffered a set-back last week when they were beaten by Hibernian at Easter Road but that was a first defeat in five league matches for the Terrors and they are available at 19/20 (1.95) with William Hill to claim a home win here.

Killie have been hugely inconsistent in recent weeks, claiming impressive victories over both Celtic and Ross County, but the men from Rugby Park have also suffered defeats against St Johnstone and Inverness, and it is often difficult to predict exactly which Kilmarnock side will turn up on a weekly basis.

Should Killie find their form, they are certainly decent value at 11/4 (3.75) with William Hill to pick up a win on Friday while the same firm go 23/10 (3.30) that the match ends in a draw.

Kilmarnock have scored in 12 of their 14 competitive fixtures this season while United have hit the net in each of their last six matches so the 8/11 (1.73) quote from William Hill looks to represent excellent value here.

Johnny Russell has been in fine form for Friday’s hosts this term, having bagged seven goals in all competitions for the Terrors thus far and the striker represents superb value at 11/2 (6.50) with William Hill to open the scoring.

Killie’s goals have been fairly evenly spread this season but Paul Heffernan marked his first start of the campaign, having returned from long-term injury, with two fabulous goals against Ross County and the striker is chalked up at 15/2 (8.50) with William Hill to break Friday’s deadlock while Gary Harkins, who also hit the target at the weekend, is a chunky 5/1 (6.0) with William Hill to net at any time.

Both sides have lacked consistency this term but goals at both ends seems the best bet and so William Hill’s 8/11 (1.73) quote for that eventuality to be realised is the best play here while the same firm’s 11/2 (6.50) quote for the in-form Johnny Russell to score first is the value selection in Friday’s Scottish clash.
