The Bhoys earned a superb win over Barcelona in Glasgow on Wednesday night, and the legendary singer was enjoying a double celebration the day after the club's 125th anniversary
After Celtic’s agonising defeat to Barcelona at Camp Nou a fortnight ago, Rod Stewart probably told his friends I Don’t Want to Talk About It, but on Wednesday night Lady Luck smiled upon the Bhoys, giving them a stunning 2-1 victory over the Blaugrana at Celtic Park.
The legendary crooner was in Glasgow celebrating the club’s 125th anniversary with DJ Dr Fox on a “Magic” evening for Neil Lennon’s side, undoubtedly helping 67-year-old Stewart feel Forever Young.
The Hoops clearly decided on Wednesday that Tonight’s the Night and Young Turk Tony Watt proved the hero with what turned out to be the winning goal.
Lifelong Bhoys fan Stewart couldn’t hold back the tears at the final whistle on an historic night in Glasgow, and Lennon’s men were feeling Footloose and Fancy Free after defeating one of the best club sides in the world.
It was obviously the case that The First Cut is the Deepest as the Bhoys recovered from the 2-1 defeat at the home of the Catalan giants in October to give themselves an excellent chance of making it through to the knockout stage.
Clearly Some Guys Have All the Luck, and the former Faces frontman almost certainly would have hit the Downtown Train for some Cigarettes and Alcohol to celebrate Celtic’s famous win.
