The 26-year-old has rescinded his decision to quit the national team after going on a six-month hiatus following an unsatisfactory performance at the AfconGhana international Asamoah Gyan has made a return to the Black Stars after taking a six-month break.
The Al Ain striker took an “indefinite break” from the national team following a barrage of public backlash after the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
One of his management members, Dentaa, confirmed the news to Goal.com Ghana, and said that the 26-year-old’s decision to return was in the national interest.
“The decision to return was made with the incredible support of my family, friends and the football family of Ghana,” Gyan told the BBC on Tuesday.
”I’m happy about the way the GFA handled the issue; they spoke to me and discussed my problems with my family.
“I am fully focused on our clear goals ahead, in helping my nation qualify for both the Afcon 2013 and the World Cup in 2014,” the 'Baby Jet' said.
