Moroka Swallows to take part in Chinese tournament

Moroka Swallows will hope for overseas success after being invited for a tournament in China during the month of June.

The Dube Birds came close to winning the Premier Soccer League (PSL) title, falling two points short of eventual champions Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Swallows coach Gordon Igesund confirms that the tournament will include a big team from France and top Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, who are trying to sign Chelsea star Didier Drogba.

"I am taking a full squad to China with the exception of Siyabonga Nomvethe and Oscar Machapa, who will both be involved with their national teams.

"I believe this tournament will be a great experience and exposure to some other players that have never tasted international football before," said Igesund, according to
