Roma trainer Luis Enrique has expressed his hope that Pep Guardiola will continue to coach at Barcelona next season.
The two were team-mates at the Catalan club between 1996 and 2001, winning two Primera Division titles, two Copa del Rey's and a UEFA Cup Winner's Cup trophy together.
The Roma coach followed Guardiola's path into senior management as he took charge of the Barcelona B job vacated by the record-breaking manager.
According to Sport.es Luis Enrique said: "The future of Guardiola? I want him to continue for himself and for the club.
"He's very smart, is Catalan and carries the spirit of Barca inside, but has yet to decide on his future and clearly express it."
Luis Enrique has been linked to position at Camp Nou as speculation continues to mount over Guardiola's position.
However the Roma coach remains confident that Guardiola will remain at the helm for Barcelona as they look ahead to next season.
