Malaysia's 2013 FA Cup champions; Kelantan who are playing in their third consecutive AFC cup this season, fell 5-3 to Yangon United in their earlier.
On top of playing away, and without three of their foreign players who were injured, Steve Darby's men also were left with only ten players after one of them was sent off in the 74th minute.
The home side proved to be superior to Kelantan when they opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute, through a wonderful tight angle strike by their Brazilian forward Emerson Luiz Tito.
Myanmar U23 star Kyaw Ko Ko doubled their lead in the 27th minute, when he lobbed Kelantan goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi inside the penalty box in the 27th minute.
Just before the halftime whistle, Yangon made it 3-0 from Tito again, who pounced first on a header that hit the post, from a corner kick.
However Kelantan pulled one back two minutes after the second half whistle through Wan Zaharul Nizam, although their hopes for a comeback were dashed when Yangon made it four just four minutes later, again from Ko Ko who stabbed in a low cross from the right, after being given acres of space by the shambolic Kelantan defence.
In the 63rd minute, Kelantan skipper Badhri Razi added Kelantan's second of the match.
Near the end of the match, both teams added one more goal each with Ko Ko getting his hatrick by heading in a corner kick, and Badhri getting his second, making the final scoreline 5-3.
