A.Thamil Arasu’s two goals give the Malaysians all three points and help them climb up to fifth place in the table
Harimau Muda bounced back from their defeat to Home United last week with a comfortable 2-0 win over bottom club Woodlands Wellington yesterday.
A.Thamil Arasu was the hero for the team made up mostly of Malaysia Under-23 squad players with his second half brace.
With exception of the suspended Fadhli Shas, coach Ong Kim Swee named a strong line-up which included Gary Steven Robbat and Wan Zack Haikal.
Thamil’s first goal came through a header in the 68th minute after he ran into space and connected to a Wan Zack cross.
The lanky striker then sealed the win for the Young Tigers with a second goal two minutes before the end, when he finished off a Fandi Othman delivery.
Kim Swee said after the game: “The players did well and I’m proud of them. We are hoping to finish the season on a high.”
With the win, Harimau Muda moved up to fifth place on goal difference and will take on Balestier Khalsa FC on the 27th of September at 7.45pm in their next fixture.
