Live Commentary

  • That's all from me here folks. Feel free to tweet me your thoughts on the game @keeshsundaresan . Now that Selangor have further consolidated their lead, do you think they are on their way to the title. With that, I bid good night!
  • Terengganu did dominate for a bit, after Dabo scored their only goal of the night, but their dreams were ultimately shattered by Veenod's late strike. And Kunanlan's injury time goal just added more salt into their wounds
  • They started the game well, and took the lead just before half time through Paulo Rangel. But the Brazilian was weirdly sent off some a reason that still appears to be bizarre at the moment. The Red Giants came back, and turned on the style with 10 men to secure the win.
  • And the final whistle is blown here in Kuala Terengganu! Selangor will head home with massive three points after an amazing performance here!
  • 90' + 2'
    Goal Subramaniam Kunanlan
  • 90' + 1'
We are edging closer towards full time here, and Terengganu already look distraught at the fact that they conceded the third goal

    Goal Veenod Subramaniam

It's getting pretty intense here in Kuala Terengganu, with only minutes left before full time. Terengganu really hoping to secure at least a draw here, but Selangor are holding up well. Meanwhile, Fitri Shazwan is warming up on the touchlines

  • 78'
Good build up play from Terengganu there, but their fail to make an impact on the final third. Shahrom Kalam has been stellar today
  • 74'
    SubstitutionAbdul Hadi Yahya Afiq Azmi
  • 70'
Terengganu pushing hard to find the equalizer here. They are pumping men upfront albeit with caution, because they know that any form of complacency could allow Selangor to break away with pace
  • 65'
Azlan Zainal tries his luck from distance, but his attempt sails way over the bar!
  • 62'
The away side using Andik and Kunanlan's pace to push them through the counter and maybe try to nick a third goal that will give them some much needed cushion
  • 58'
Terengganu visibly dominating possession here, over the 10 men Selangor side. The Red Giants need to hold tight for the next 30 minutes
  • 56'
So apparently Rangel was sent off for injuring a Terengganu player while celebrating the goal. Pretty bizarre
  • 54'
It's been an insane second half thus far, both teams out with their guns firing on all cylinders
  • 50'
    Goal Moustapha Dabo
GOAL! Dabo reduces the deficit for the home side here! Can they mount a comeback!
  • 46'
    Penalty Goal Abdul Hadi Yahya
GOAL! Hadi doubles Selangor's lead through a penalty kick!
  • 45'
And the second half resumes here in Kuala Terengganu
  • 45' + 3'
Paulo Rangel bizarrely gets sent off there. Still unclear to me as to why though. But either way, the half time whistle is blown and hopefully we'll get some explanation soon
  • 45' + 2'
    Red Card Paulo Rangel
  • 45' + 1'
    Goal Paulo Rangel
GOAL! Paulo Rangel puts Selangor ahead with a close range finish! Red Giants seize advantage!

Kunanlan floats a ball into the box, but Bikana clears it away effectively
  • 37'
Manaf tries his luck from distance, but it predictably sails wide
  • 34'
This game certainly needs a goal to spark some life into it.
  • 30'
Kunanlan drifts to the right, and finds space to launch a cross into the box. But Rangel's header went wide off target
  • 27'
CHANCE! Zairo tries luck with the free kick, but it's brilliantly tipped away by Farizal. What a save!
  • 25'
Hadi Yahya brings down Ismail Faruqi. Free kick for the home side
  • 21'
Selangor slowly gaining the upper hand here.
  • 18'
Both sides have been relatively cautious with their approach; and that isn't surprising either considering the magnitude of this clash.
  • 16'
Nazmi profoundly distributing the ball from midfield. But the Red Giants haven't really created a clear cut chance yet
  • 13'
Selangor try hitting on the counter, but Hadi Yahya is ruled out for offside.
  • 9'
Rangel is being marked well by Bikana. I must say that Bikana has been in solid form for the Turtles this season, what a signing.
  • 7'
Good spell of possession for Terengganu here, but Selangor are slowly coming into the game
  • 4'
CHANCE! Manaf Mamat breaks into the Selangor penalty box, but his attempt is parried away by Farizal!
  • 3'
Free kick for Terengganu, but Zairo lashes it against the wall. The ball is subsequently cleared away
  • 1'
And it's kick off here in Kuala Terengganu!
  • Also important to note that Norfarhan Muhammad will not be playing tonight due to an injury. Considering how influential he has been for the Turtles this season, I'm wondering if his absence will be a massive loss for them.
  • Selangor's line up means that they have an incredibly dynamic attacking quartet of Andik, Hadi, Kunanlan and Rangel. Expect Andik and Kunanlan to push hard on the flanks, while Rangel will most likely be the focal point of their attack. Hadi will sit behind the Brazilian and try to disrupt the Terengganu's defence with his runs off the ball
  • “There are four teams with the potential to win the league, which are us, Selangor, JDT and Pahang so the match against Selangor and JDT will be very crucial to decide our fate in the league," Team Manager Marzuki Sulong said.
  • On another note, we are just minutes away from kick off here in Kuala Terengganu. Feel free to tweet me your thoughts on the game @keeshsundaresan
  • Selangor are currently on top of the table with 34 points from 17 games, while Terengganu are just three points away on third place. Victory for the home side would see them take over the top spot on a better goal difference.
