Nasril Nordin's last minute penalty save condemned Johor FC to their 10th defeat of the season.

On the back of a 3-1 away defeat against Negeri Sembilan, Perak let their intentions be known early on to the visiting Johor FC with long balls aimed at their target man, Albert Bodjongo. However, Johor FC did well to withhold the pressure being applied on their defence.

Perak’s main goal getter; Michal Kubala was central to the first goal of the game. His free kick led to Bodjongo’s scuffed effort which the Johor FC defence failed to deal with effectively and winger Rafiuddin Roddin pounced on the weak clearance with a drilled shot into the bottom corner of Zamir Selamat’s goal.

The visitors registered their first effort on goal as Arthuro Bernhardt’s free kick sailed away from Nasril Nordin’s goal.

A moment of chaos occurred soon after as Zamir Selamat’s lapse of concentration almost doubled Perak’s lead as he failed to control Renato Augusto’s back pass.

Minutes after that, goalscorer Rafiuddin Roddin yet again proved to be a constant thorn to the Johor FC defence as his dinked effort was saved by Zamir Selamat.

Perak ended the first half and looked good money for their lead as they effectively controlled much of the ball possession of the game as Johor FC were restricted to long range efforts.

The home side started the second half and picked up where they left off as they passed the ball around while the visitors were left chasing shadows.

Bodjongo then doubled Perak’s lead as he took Michal Kubala’s pass into his stride and fooled his marker Renato Augusto before drilling a shot into the back of the net.

Johor FC’s top scorer, Arthuro Benrhardt then clawed one back for the visitors with a delightful free kick that curled into the hapless Nasril Nordin’s goal.

The game came to life in the last 3 minutes of the stoppage time as Perak defender Khairi Zainuddin needlessly fouled former National Under 23 striker Haris Safwan and conceded a penalty kick. Arthuro  Bernhardt however failed to convert the resulting penalty as his weak effort was saved by Nasril Nordin.

Perak are now tied with Selangor with 30 points, while Johor FC remained rooted at second from bottom of the table with this latest defeat.
