Alan Pardew will be once again without midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring), with the Frenchman likely to miss the entirety of Newcastle's festive schedule.

Sylvain Marveaux returns from injury and could provide an option for Newcastle going forward, but Yohan Cabaye (groin) and Steven Taylor (hamstring) remain long-term absentees.

Joining Bobby Zamora (thigh) and Andy Johnson (thigh) on the sidelines for QPR is Park Ji-Sung (knee).

Jose Bosingwa is fit after missing his side's first win of the season against Fulham, but Nedum Onuoha could continue at right-back after a solid performance.
