Kelantan 1-1 T-Team : Red Warriors stumble again with another draw

Kelantan's poor performance was punished by substitute, Khairul Izwan, who cleverly beat the Red Warriors goalkeeper to score a classy equaliser and hold the defending champions

The visitors played well early in the first-half and managed to create several opportunities to score.

Both teams presented the 20,000 fans in attendance an exciting game. On 18 minutes, Kelantan had a goal disallowed after the referee called for a foul by Mohd Norfarhan.

The home side still registered the first goal after Nurul Azwan Roya's strike to the left corner of the goal beat Syamsuri Mustapha.

Mohd Norfarhan had cleverly dribbled and beaten the T-Team defenders before setting up for Nurul Azwan to score.

Shock by the goal, T-Team doubled their effort to find the net, but failed to break the deadlock before the half-time whistle.

At the start of the second-half, PBDKT T-Team did not wait long to search for an equaliser.

Zairo Anuar Zailani's shot in the 46th minute almost gave them the equaliser, but Mohd Shahrizan Ismail did brilliantly to save the shot. Kelantan seemed too satisfied with the one goal lead and started to delay the game and Mohd Daudsu received the only yellow card of the game for that.

Kelantan's fans cheered after Bojan Hodak make introduced Norsyahrul Idlan Talaha for Norfarhan Mohd. However, even with their prolific striker, the home side couldn't extend their lead.

In the 74th minute, T-Team played superb one-touch football before managing to send Khairul Izwan off to a one-on-one situation with the home goalkeeper which he duly won, finishing with some style by lobbing his shot into the back of the net.

Near the end of the match, Kelantan tried everything they could to find the winning goal, but all of them were denied by the former Malaysia national goalkeeper, Syamsuri Mustapha.

Althought the result was a major setback, the Red Warriors are still the contenders for the league title after LIONSXII were beaten by Selangor PKNS on the same night. Kelantan remain in second place, five points behind the league leaders LionsXII, but have three games in hands.
