The clash at Darul Aman will be between two sides aiming to kick start their season, though from different notes. Johor FC have not had the luck yet while awful is perhaps the right word to describe Kedah's form.
The Canaries have not scored a single goal in the Super League this season, which leaves them languishing in the relegation zone. Baddrol Bakhthiar's return has not really reignited them so far and their foreign signings have looked totally dreadful.
However, a one-week break could be the perfect tonic for Kedah to revive themselves. Once again, Baddrol's influence will be essential in this home clash and Khyril Muhymeen has to shoulder more responsibility on the flanks.
As for Johor, their bid will be to solidify their midfield and attack. K.Devan's side are formidable opponents but perhaps they haven't had the luck at times this season. Their last two defeats against Perak and Kelantan were pretty closely fought matches and the results could have gone their way.
Nonetheless, Kedah's poor form could trigger Johor's renaissance. Skipper Khairul Ismail has been an inspirational figure, and will continue to lead by example from the back. They have only managed to score three goals so far but against a weak Kedah defence, they could very well smash in a few on Saturday night.
