Did not have much to do for the first hour, with Chelsea restricted to long shots, but got nowhere near Willian's free kick for Mikel's goal and let Oscar's shot go straight through him. Redeemed himself somewhat by denying Torres, but the Spaniard should have scored.
Got back well to foil Eto'o, but the striker really should have done better. Did well on the whole, and showed a glimpse of his attacking talent early on with a neat pass in a dangerous area and then after the break with a surging run.
Unadventurous and ineffectual attacking down the left but steady enough at the back.
Was solid alongside the youngster, Keane. Did very well to foil Cole around the hour mark as the England man was weighing up his targets. Generally resilient.
Stood firm as part of a solid defence for an hour and showed composure on the ball and a willingness to get forward on rare occasions.
Showed little to back up Premier League interest in him, and was booked for a bad lunge on Hazard in the second half. Disappointing afternoon for the youngster.
Impressed in the middle, though was not helped by his team-mates. Influence waned as the match wore on.
Put in a great tackle to deny a surging Oscar in the opening exchanges, but was later booked. Substituted as McClaren chased the game at 1-0 down.
Provided some late threat in the first half with a direct run to force a corner, but too often his endeavours were in vain.
Was very quiet for the most part and failed to really threaten the visiting defence. Did have one shot with five minutes left that Schwarzer had to turn away, though.
Helped set the tempo early on but his influence faded as Chelsea took control. Wasted a free kick just outside the Blues box after the break. Replaced by Bennett after Mikel's goal.
Largely untroubled in the first period but his handling was up to scratch when called upon, including late on when he denied Martin.
Made one vital interception early on, but was largely untroubled aside from two Derby bursts an hour apart.
Some strong tackles and runs out of defence, though was nearly caught out 10 minutes before half-time after some sloppy play. Also had a couple of shots, but did no damage.
Had a quiet game at right-back; was not really called on in a defensive sense but did not do much attacking either.
Blocked a couple of shots early on and got back well to recover as Derby got in behind. Helped control the game from the back after the break.
Struggled to create much in the first half, and was often outnumbered on the edge of the area. Immediately improved in the second with a slide-rule ball to Oscar, and then delivered the cross for Mikel to head the opener.
J. Obi Mikel
Helped drown out the Derby midfield and got the vital opening goal - just his fourth for the club - on his 300th appearance.
Got forward to try to aid his side's attacks, and went close with a dipping shot after 30 minutes before hitting the post in first-half stoppage time. Was able to sit deeper after half-time and was largely untroubled in that role.
Did little to stand out bar make things difficult for the home midfield, and was brought off soon after the break Mourinho pushed for a goal.
Cut through the heart of the Derby defence with a brilliant early run, only to be tackled. Went close with a free kick and another long-range strike later in the first half, and generally looked the most creative force for the first hour before Willian stepped up and Hazard came on. Scored the second goal but goalkeeper Grant was at fault.
Misplaced a simple pass to the free Ramires early on and then dallied on the ball when clean through when he really should have scored.
Set up Oscar with a near first-time pass, but aside from his presence on the pitch did not do too much with the ball to influence proceedings.
Really should have scored but tried to go around Grant rather than shoot and was denied. Then had a low shot that Grant parried out.
