The Crocs secured their first away victory of the season, despite going a goal down early onThe hosts were dominant early on in the game and could have opened the scoring in the second minute as Mohd Khairi Kiman drifted past a defender and pulled back for Eddy Helmi, but his shot was blocked well by the Sarawak defence. Nonetheless, it did not take long for Johor FC to break the deadlock as debutant Arturo Henrique smashed in a brilliant free-kick to give his team an early lead in the 10th minute
K. Devan's men continued to dominate posession and Arturo was being a real menace upfront, terrorizing the Sarawak defence. However, the away side managed to squeeze in the equalizer against the run of play, as Guy Bwele netted through a well-taken free-kick in the 25th minute, as the score remained until half time.
The second-half kicked off with a frantic tempo, as Sarawak looked to improve their attack by introducing Ashri Chuchu. The change provided a spark to their dull performance, as Chuchu began to threaten down the flanks.
Sarawak kept the pressure by keeping possesion and tested Mohd Zamir Selamat on several occasions, providing Johor with something to think about as the hosts upped the ante on the hour mark.
However, the Crocs sealed their comeback in the 72nd minute through Azizan Baba who scored with a textbook header following a well taken corner-kick from substitute Chuchu.
Johor could have secured a point in the dying minute but Arturo Henrique's shot was parried away by Sani Anuar Kansani. Sarawak kept hold of their lead for a well-deserved victory despite late pressure from Johor.
