Elsewhere for Villa, Joe Bennet, Charles N'Zogbia and Gary Gardner are all out with knee injuries. Richard Dunne (groin) and rStiliyan Petrov (acute leukaemia) are long-term absentees.

Brian McDermott has no new injury concerns ahead of his side's trip to Villa Park. Jimmy Kebe is out with a groin problem, while Alex McCarthy (shoulder), Danny Guthrie (thigh) and Jem Karacan (knee) are still sidelined. Jason Roberts and Pavel Pogrebnyak will be fighting for a spot in attack alongside Adam Le Fondre.

  • Brian McDermott's men also have the worst pass completion rate with 68.4%.

  • Reading have yet to record an away win in the Premier League this season.

  • Nicky Shorey has created 28 goalscoring chances this season - as many as Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.
