In this middle-of-the-table clash, PKNS FC will definitely look to capitalise on their home advantage as they seek to beat Pahang, which would mean a seventh place finish for them this season. After a bumpy ride this campaign, PKNS will look to end the season on a high note as defeat and win for both Terengganu and Perak could see them finish ninth place, only two spots above the relegation zone in what would be an unfair reflection on their performance this year.
Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh and Roman Chmelo once again will be the players to look out for, with Malaysian wonderkid Nazmi Faiz the man running the engine room for The Red Ants. The defensive line of PKNS FC has been marginally disappointing throughout the season and they will certainly want to do their best in their last league infront of their own fans.
Early in the season, Pahang were one of the contenders for the Malaysian Super League title after their players stormed the team into the top spot. However, injury problems and a dip in form have brought them into the middle of the table. However they can still finish this season as the best team in the East coast if they can win this game and Kelantan lose theirs.
Sitting at sixth spot in the league, Dollah Salleh's men would not drop down into the bottom half of the table even if they lose this game as other teams would not be able to catch up with them. But the Tok Gajah will surely want to finish as high as possible, and remarkably they still have an outside chance of finishing in fourth place if Fauzi Roslan, R. Gopinathan and Amirulhadi can spur a victory against PKNS away from home.
