Goal.com rates the players on show as the Blaugrana breezed past Gregorio Manzano's side with Cesc Fabregas grabbing a hat-trick and also playing a hand in Alexis Sanchez's goals

    José Pinto Colorado

The keeper had very little to do but did give the Barca fans a few worrisome moments as he tried to play the ball out from the back. He was never really forced into a difficult save by the visitors.

  • Daniel Alves

    Daniel Alves

Played more like a winger, bombing down the right flank and always looking to feed the forwards in more dangerous positions. He did not stop running and also kept close watch on Dos Santos.

  • Piqué
    38

    3.50

    Piqué

Played the ball out from the back as Barcelona dominated possession and had wave after wave of attacks. He picked his moments to step out from the back well and had a good physical battle with Hemed.

  • Bartra

    Bartra

Timed his tackles well and did not put a foot wrong, though the threat posed by Mallorca was very limited. Nevertheless he maintained his concentration throughout and will be happy to have contributed to the clean sheet.

  • Montoya

    Montoya

A good performance from the young full-back as he kept things tight down Barca's left side. He never let Nsue catch him with his pace and at times got forward to good effect.

  • Cesc Fàbregas

Cesc Fàbregas Top of the Match

Had to fill the boots of Lionel Messi and did so to magnificent effect. He was on fire as he dropped off the front line to pick up the ball before driving forward and bagging himself a sublime hat-trick. His combination with Alexis was brilliant.

  • Andrés Iniesta Luján

    Andrés Iniesta Luján

A great performance from the midfielder as he orchestrated everything for Barcelona. He cut open the Mallorca defence with incisive passing and elegant dribbling and deserved to get a goal.

  • Thiago Alcántara

    3.00

    Thiago Alcántara

Although his side completely controlled the game, Thiago did not particularly stand out. He kept things simple throughout the 90 minutes but would have hoped for a more integral performance to push for a starting spot.

  • Alex Song
    52
    0
    3.50

    Alex Song

Patrolled the midfield and limited the effectiveness of any Mallorca counterattack by hunting the ball down and making a well-judged challenge. He allowed Iniesta and Thiago the freedom to move forward.

  • Alexis Sánchez
    69

    Alexis Sánchez

The Chilean looked like a new player as he combined with Fabregas to devastating effect. He drifted in from the right and got two assists as well as showing his striking instinct to net on two occasions.

  • Tello
    40
    3
    3.50

    Tello

Continued his progression with another impressive outing. He had the beating of Hutton who was incapable of dealing with his electric pace. His finishing was poor at times but he put some great crosses into the area.

Substitutions

  • Éric Abidal

    Éric Abidal

Made his return from a liver transplant by replacing Gerard Pique in the 70th minute and had a solid close to the game.

  • Jonathan Dos Santos

    2
    3.00

    Jonathan Dos Santos

Replaced Iniesta in the 50th minute and while he could not match the Spaniard's creative brilliance, he added a bit more bite to the Barcelona midfield.

  • Gerard Deulofeu
    32
    3

    Gerard Deulofeu

Came on for Fabregas in the 65th minute and used his pace to get at Kevin frequently but did not manage to get the better of the full-back.

  • Dudú Aouate

    2.50

    Dudú Aouate

The Israeli was not really at fault for any of the goals, though it is hard to find many positives when so many get stuck past you. A brilliant first-half save from Iniesta was his highlight but he will undoubtedly be disappointed with his evening.

  • Alan Hutton
    0
    5
    2.50

    Alan Hutton

Struggled to deal with the pace of Cristian Tello from the first minute as the Barca youngster repeatedly beat him with absolute ease. His own lack of pace was completely exposed.

  • Nunes

    4
    1.50

    Nunes Flop of the Match

The Mallorca defence were completely ripped apart and Nunes certainly played his role in that. He was far too static and appeared to lack communication with his partner at the back as Alexis got in between the pair to score his second.

  • Bigas
    1
    3
    2.00

    Bigas

Failed to track the run of Cesc as he slotted his second goal in and that really summed up his lazy performance. He lacked awareness and was positionally poor as Barca ran rampant all evening.

  • Kevin
    1
    3
    2.00

    Kevin

Looked adventurous early on but he was soon forced to sit back as Barca assumed total control. He was guilty of leaving too much space in the channels at time and was rash as he dived in when Cesc rolled in his third.

  • Tomás Pina
    0
    4
    3.00

    Tomás Pina

Did his best to help support his defence by screening them and attempting to close the players in possession as quick as possible. He only seemed to crack it when Barca eased up later in the game.

  • Fernando Tissone
    1
    3
    2.00

    Fernando Tissone

Unable to influence the game in midfield as Mallorca saw very little of the ball. He appeared to be a step off the pace for much of the game and seemingly lost interest extremely early on.

  • Nsue
    0
    3
    2.50

    Nsue

Found it difficult to get at Montoya and looked aimless as he continually ran into dead ends down the right flank. He failed to supply Hemed with any service or support.

  • Giovani dos Santos
    4
    4
    2.50

    Giovani dos Santos

Had some positive moments on the ball but unfortunately did not see enough of it to haunt his former club. He created some decent chances for his team but there simply were not enough of them.

  • Tomer Hemed
    1
    4
    1.50

    Tomer Hemed

Lacked service for the 90 minutes but was far too ambitious whenever he got on the ball. Some of his attempts were never going to go in and he rarely gave Pique or Bartra anything to worry about.

  • Alfaro
    0
    5
    2.00

    Alfaro

Linked the play to good effect at times in the final third but was caught ball-watching as Alexis scored his first. He should have scored a header in the first half and had a goal ruled out controversially after the break.

Substitutions

  • Javi Márquez

    Javi Márquez

Brought on in place of Pina in the 70th minute but failed to have any impact on the game.

  • Josep Lluis Martí

    2.50

    Josep Lluis Martí

Replaced Hemed at half-time and, although Mallorca did improve after the break, he was unable to worry Pinto.

  • Arizmendi
    0
    3
    3.00

    Arizmendi

Came on for Nsue during the interval and helped add a bit more solidity to the team, despite Fabregas completing his hat-trick early in the second half.
